New to You is located downstairs in the Glenview Community Church.
We are close to downtown Glenview, three blocks west of Harlem/Lehigh Avenue on the corner of Elm Street and Glenview Road at 1000 Elm Street.
For your convenience, we have a large parking lot on the west side of the building and an elevator.
Our History
New to You was originally founded over 75 years ago, after WWII by Glenview Community Church women whose children were rapidly outgrowing their clothes. The idea of the shop was to allow clothing to be bought, sold or exchanged very reasonably. At that time it was called The Exchange and was located in a store front where the Glenview Public Library is today.
After the church’s 1959 addition, the shop moved into a space in the church itself. As our merchandise selection expanded, the name was changed to The Resale Shop. In addition to clothing and accessories, we now carry home décor, jewelry, kitchen and bake ware, small appliances and so much more. Families have known the shop by this name for so many years and with new construction in the church, we felt it was time to make some new changes. This led us to our new name, New to You!
